Referring a Juvenile to Provo Youth Court

To refer a juvenile to Provo Youth Court, please complete the form below as thoroughly as possible. Some fields are required. If you have access to PowerSchool, please include a parent or guardian email address, as this helps streamline the process of sending court reminders prior to the juvenile’s court date.

Provo Youth Court hears cases classified as Class B misdemeanors or lower. Cases involving more serious offenses must be referred to the 4th District Juvenile Court. Youth Court operates under an assumption of guilt, meaning that by agreeing to participate, the offender accepts the charges as submitted and waives the right to contest them.

  • The offense is more serious than a Class B misdemeanor

  • The juvenile has previously appeared in Provo Youth Court for the same offense (may be waived)

  • The juvenile or their parent/guardian wish to contest the charges

Before submitting a referral, please verify that the juvenile meets all eligibility requirements for their case to be heard in Provo Youth Court.
